[NEWS] Taeyeon’s ‘The TENSE in JAPAN’ Concert Canceled Due to Equipment Delay

Hello everyone — unfortunately, I’m here to share some disappointing news for Taeyeon fans.

On April 17, SM Entertainment announced through Taeyeon’s official Japanese website that the upcoming "TAEYEON CONCERT – The TENSE in JAPAN" has been officially canceled. The concerts were originally scheduled to take place on April 19 (Friday) and April 20 (Saturday) at Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

🎙️ Official Statement from SM Entertainment

According to the agency:

“The equipment used for the Asia tour is still in transit to Japan. As of now, it has not arrived in the country, making it extremely difficult to properly prepare for the concert.

Despite repeated discussions with all involved parties and exploring every possible solution, we’ve come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to hold the concert in a fully prepared and safe state.

We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were looking forward to the show.”

🎶 What’s Next?

As a result, this weekend’s Japan concerts have been canceled. However, SM Entertainment added that they are considering the possibility of a replacement concert and will share further details as soon as they’re confirmed.

Taeyeon kicked off her ‘The TENSE’ Asia Tour in Seoul this March, followed by successful shows in Manila, Philippines, and Jakarta, Indonesia. It’s a real shame that Tokyo fans won’t be able to see her this weekend — but hopefully, a rescheduled date will be announced soon.

Stay tuned for updates!
